Privacy by architecture

Your health belongs to you.

What you record about your health is deeply personal. Sequa is designed to keep you in control of it.

Track privately. Understand privately. Share when you decide to.

A Visit Prep summary or an export you send. No standing access to the record behind it.

No health-data marketplace. No advertiser access to your health record. No insurer feed. Tap a name to see what it can access. Demonstration data.

We don’t want your health data to become our asset.

Most digital services become more valuable to the company as they collect more information about you. Sequa is designed differently.

Your health history exists to help you understand yourself, prepare for care, and communicate what matters. It should not exist to build an advertising profile, create an insurer dataset, or become inventory for somebody else’s business model.

YOUR PRIVACY

YOUR CONTROL
Access can be changed or withdrawn.

Private by architecture. Not just by policy.

A privacy policy tells you what a company promises to do with your information. Architecture determines what information the company needs in the first place.

Sequa is built around minimising unnecessary movement and centralisation of your personal health information.

No automatic access through Sequa

The less sensitive information that has to leave your control, the less there is to expose.

Health sovereignty

Being able to use your health information without giving up control of it.

Private by default

Logging something about your health should not automatically make it available to another organisation.

Permission, not assumption

Connected health information is accessed only through the permissions you provide.

Sharing with intent

Your doctor can benefit from what you choose to bring into a consultation without permanent access to everything you track.

Freedom to leave

A health app should not require you to surrender control of your history because you once chose to use it.

Some things are nobody else’s business.

Health tracking can involve far more than steps and sleep. The things people find most useful to record can also be the things they most want kept private.

You shouldn’t have to wonder whether logging something sensitive creates a commercial profile about you.

For people using Sequa in the UK

Your Sequa record isn’t automatically an NHS record.

What you record for yourself does not need to become part of somebody else’s system simply because it concerns your health. Your GP, NHS Trust, consultant, employer or insurer does not automatically receive everything you enter into Sequa.

UK GDPR treats health information as special-category data with additional protection. Sequa’s approach in plain language: collect less, move less, retain less, expose less.

When something would be useful during care, you decide what to bring into the conversation.

InsurersNo Sequa-provided access to your personal Sequa health record.
EmployersNo employer portal into your personal Sequa record.
Advertising platformsYour personal health information isn’t used to build advertising audiences.
Data brokersWe don’t sell your personal health information to data brokers.
NHS organisationsNo automatic access. Information reaches a clinician through what you choose to share or a separate authorised process.

Compliance is expected. Architecture is what differs.

Apple Health

You decide what Sequa can see.

Apple Health permissions are granular. You can allow one category while withholding another, and change your mind later in iOS Settings. Try it here.

Apple’s rules also prohibit HealthKit information from being used for advertising, or sold to advertising platforms, data brokers or information resellers. Sequa works within them.

Your Apple Health data isn’t advertising inventory.

ALLOW SEQUA TO READ

Sequa can read steps, heart rate, sleep, heart rate variability. Nothing else. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings.

Deliberate sharing

Private doesn’t mean trapped.

Your health information can stay private until it has a reason to leave your hands. When you are preparing for an appointment, Sequa helps organise what matters into something easier to discuss or share. Your GP, consultant, employer or insurer does not receive what you enter simply because you entered it.

BACKGROUND SHARING
No
YOU CHOOSE TO SHARE
Yes

Sharing is something you do. It isn’t something that happens quietly in the background.

Syncing to your own iCloud is not sharing. It is your copy, in your space.

NO ACCOUNT

You don’t need to identify yourself to understand yourself.

You shouldn’t need to create another central online identity simply to track your own health. No Sequa health account, no email to start, no central profile for the core app.

PRIVATE INTELLIGENCE

Personal intelligence without turning you into a cloud profile.

Personalised technology is assumed to need everything about you sent to a central system. Where Sequa can perform analysis on device, your information produces something useful without first becoming part of a centralised health profile.

Powerful doesn’t have to mean invasive. Weather context comes from Open-Meteo, which receives approximate coordinates only. See Insights →
Your iCloud, not ours

Your history can move house when you do.

Sequa is built for iPhone, and you can choose to sync your record to your own iCloud. Get a new phone, and your history arrives with you.

Your record never touches our servers, because there aren’t any. Sync, if you turn it on, goes to your own iCloud, under your own Apple ID, encrypted by Apple in transit and at rest, with no way in for us.

Leave it off, and the record simply stays where it always was: on your phone.

Security in depth

Private by design. Protected in practice.

Device-level protection
Your record sits behind iOS platform security and your device passcode or Face ID.
HealthKit encryption
Apple encrypts the HealthKit store when the device is locked.
On-device processing
Where a calculation runs locally, the information does not need to be transmitted for it.
Permission controls
Fine-grained HealthKit authorisation for each health-data category.
Data minimisation
Collect less. Move less. Retain less. Expose less.

We reduce the amount of trust you need to place in us.

Your control shouldn’t end when you decide to leave.

You can remove your locally stored Sequa data, change or revoke Apple Health permissions in iOS Settings, and delete the app. Documents you have exported are yours and live wherever you saved them. Delete your data in the app and, if sync is on, the deletion reaches your iCloud copy too, though not instantly. Uninstalling the app alone does not delete an iCloud copy; manage that through your iCloud settings.

Some records sit outside Sequa’s control, such as App Store records held by Apple. The privacy policy sets out exactly what Sequa itself retains, including support correspondence and what optional sync involves, so the two documents always agree. If iCloud sync is on when you delete your Sequa data, the deletion also reaches your private iCloud database, though not instantly. If you switched sync off earlier, manage any remaining copy in your iCloud settings. Uninstalling the app on its own does not delete an iCloud copy.

Two named third parties. For optional weather and environmental context, Sequa uses Open-Meteo, which receives only approximate latitude and longitude at roughly kilometre-level accuracy. Sequa uses RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlement status, which receives limited pseudonymous purchase and technical information. Neither receives your health record, name, email address or a Sequa account identifier.

SEQUA PATHWAYS

Sequa is your personal health space. Pathways is built for authorised healthcare delivery.

Everything on this page describes the consumer app. Sequa Pathways uses a separate security, access, audit and governance architecture designed for healthcare organisations, because authorised clinical teams need access to information about enrolled patients.

Common questions

No. We do not sell personal health information, and for your health record we could not: Sequa does not hold a copy of it. Your record lives on your device and, if you sync, in your own iCloud. The little Sequa itself holds, such as support correspondence, is covered by the same rule as policy, set out in the Privacy Policy.
